Ontario Ministry of Transportation inviting observers to Roadcheck 2025

In a note to the industry sent earlier today, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation is inviting those interested to participate as an observer in International Roadcheck 2025 occurring on May 13, 14, and 15.

International Roadcheck is a three-day safety blitz where certified commercial vehicle inspectors across all of North America conduct random inspections on large vehicles. This special event provides the general public the opportunity to view and understand firsthand the application of the many safety regulations and standards applicable to commercial motor vehicles and their drivers.

During International Roadcheck, inspectors will be checking critical safety elements on commercial motor vehicles, as well as verifying drivers’ fitness for duty. Although inspectors perform this work every day, the annual three-day International Roadcheck event is designed to highlight commercial motor vehicle and driver safety inspections and other driver safety programs aimed at saving lives on North American highways.

Each year, International Roadcheck places special emphasis on a category of violations. This year, International Roadcheck will have two focus areas – hours of service and tire maintenance. While always a part of roadside inspections, CVSA is highlighting hours of service and tire maintenance this year as a reminder of its importance.

Observer requests are being processed through an online application to streamline the process for participants. Here you will find a PDF document where all available inspection locations are listed. Each location has a link to sign up, as well as a link to its exact coordinates on Google Maps.
